The 2018 Topper Traveller Series concluded on 11th August, having visited four locations: Lancing SC, Felpham SC, Arun YC, and Pagham YC. Entries were down on last year but18 sailors participated and each event enjoyed some close racing between the front runners.

WSSYSA is grateful to the  clubs who hosted the events, as well as to West Wittering SC and Arun Youth Aqua Centre, who answered the clarion call to host an event only to find it fall through for reasons beyond their control.

When the results were counted, the individual medal winners were:

1st – Miles Vidler (Crawley Mariners SC)
2nd – Samuel Brackley (Felpham SC)
3rd – Zak Smith (Pagham YC)

Congratulations to Miles, who won two out of the three events he travelled to and came second in the third.

The team trophy was awarded based on the top three individual series scores for each team. The result was:

1st – Felpham SC (12 points)
2nd – Pagham YC (17 points)
3rd – Chichester YC (34 points)

WSSYSA would welcome feedback as to the usefulness of the Topper Traveller Series to clubs and how the series format might be adjusted to  increase its appeal.
